Most couples don't stop wanting each other. They stop asking — because asking out loud carries a small risk every time, and being turned down out loud carries a bigger one. Over months and years, that tiny bit of friction adds up to silence, even between people who are still very much into each other.
YesTonight exists to remove that one piece of friction: saying it out loud.
How it works
The app is a single private question, asked once a night: are you in the mood tonight? Each of you answers on your own, in your own time, with no indication to the other person that you've even opened the app.
- If you both tap yes, you both get notified — a small celebration, and an easy opening.
- If either of you says not tonight, or doesn't answer at all, nothing happens. No notification, no dot, no "seen at 11:42pm." Your partner never learns that you said no, because the server never tells them.
That's the whole mechanic. There's no messaging, no scoring, no history of who wanted more this month. Just a nightly signal that only becomes visible when it's mutual.
Who it's for
YesTonight is built for existing, committed couples — not for meeting anyone. You pair with your partner once, using a six-digit code, and from then on the app is just the two of you. There's no discovery, no profiles, no swiping, and nothing to browse.
It's especially useful for couples who've noticed the asking itself has gotten loaded — where the hesitation isn't about wanting each other less, it's about not wanting to hear "not tonight" one more time, or not wanting to say it and watch it land badly.
What we deliberately left out
- No read receipts on a "no." The individual answer is never shown to your partner, ever.
- No streak-shaming, no nagging. Skipping a night doesn't cost you anything or show up anywhere.
- No ads, no trackers, no data resale. We store the minimum needed to run the service — email, pairing, and a nightly yes/no that's deleted after 30 days.
- No subscription. Every core feature is free. An optional one-time Supporter unlock adds a few cosmetic extras and helps keep the lights on.
